Networking is the act of building relationships through public interaction. It should be an important part of any business strategy. Every chance you have to talk with someone else is another opportunity you have to gain a connection. The lead you make today could be a client tomorrow.
LT Creative can help you become a networking professional. Affiliated with local groups and organizations dedicated to networking we are proud of the connections we've made throughout the community. While we are always working towards building our online presence we take time to connect with potential clients and partners by being active in online environments with similar interests and goals.
1. Dress to Impress: While most networking events are business casual, always dress to represent your business. This could include wearing a branded polo shirt, or dress shirt and tie. Be approachable, but professional.
2. Bring Business Cards: We can't stress how awkward it is when we meet someone at a networking event and they have to write their information on a napkin or scrap of paper. Even worse is when they write it on one of your business cards. Be prepared and bring plenty of business cards.
3. Don't be shy: This may come as a surprise, but we've seen people come to networking events and only talk to a couple of people they're already familiar with. Make a goal to introduce yourself to a specific number of people and spend the night meeting that goal.
Examples of where we network include the local chamber of commerce, bni groups, tradeshows, and career days. For more information about local networking groups and how to get involved, contact us.
